Our Zoom sessions alternate every Wednesday evening between a hybrid Buddha Service one week, and an Online only Shin/Pure Land Study Session the next. YEAR IN - YEAR OUT: The Lunar New Year in 2026 occurs on 17th February. Lantern Festival occurs fourteen days later, on the 3rd of March. Accordingly, In February 2026 we enter our thirtieth (30!) year of weekly Buddhist Sangha meetings together. The time and date of that first meeting is memorable because it was set to coincided with ascending of a new moon on the night of the Lantern Festival - which is dedicated Kuan Yin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. Because of this, an exact date and time can be confirmed! Lantern Festival always coincides with the rising of the first full moon in the Lunar/Chinese new year, which occurs on the first new moon in the new lunar year. |
